Business models tuned to match the city as a buyer
Explained in the simplest way, one can say that a business model describes how you as a company make money, how you deliver value to, for instance, a city, at a price that the city finds acceptable.
In innovative EU projects like Inspirewater, IRIS and United-Grid, IMCG handles innovation management processes working with technology providers that are developing energy, mobility and ICT solutions that solve the challenges cities face when aiming to obtain the global sustainability goals. In many cases the solution providers’ business models need to be tuned in order to match the needs of the target group – the cities.
Opportunities for companies ready for European scale-up
Our role is to make sure smart cities understand what solutions already are available on the market and what is being demonstrated and soon is ready for replication.
Not only is IMCG engaged in several Eurpean projects involving cities and municipalities, but we’re also part of the European Innovation Partnership on Smart Cities and Communities, EIP-SCC. This gives us access to almost 80 lighthouse and follower cities. We know what challenges they are facing and what kind of solutions that they might be interested in.
